McCool Oil Field

SAE Operator and Earning 100%

Salinas acquired this project in mid 2007.  It is located in rolling hills on the east side of the Salinas River Valley, less than 1 mile from the Company’s NSA facilities.

The McCool field has similar heavy crude trapped in the pinchout of the Lombardi sandstone reservoir. This reservoir is productive at NSA and the giant San Ardo oil field.

Salinas will earn its interest by reworking existing, old wells and drilling and testing a horizontal well.

The Capps 1-22H horizontal well has been drilled with a 776 feet horizontal section in the target zone.  Production testing is being carried out.

The Company estimates an in place resource of 4.7 million barrels at McCool and is targeting proving reserves of approximately 1.0 million barrels.

It is likely that the project will be tied via pipeline to the NSA facilities which would help to keep the capital costs down and enhance project economics.
